Seller Onboarding Guide

From signup to your first sale on SGT Cart — a step-by-step walkthrough for new sellers.

Opening a shop on SGT Cart takes about 30 minutes for form-filling, plus 1-2 business days for admin verification. This guide takes you from zero to live store and your first sale.

Read the Seller Agreement and Listing Guidelines before you start — they define the rules you accept by listing.

1. Who can sell on SGT Cart

You qualify if you are…Required
An individual sole trader resident in BangladeshAged 18+, valid NID, Trade Licence, TIN.
A registered company / partnership / proprietorship in BangladeshRJSC certificate, Trade Licence, TIN, BIN (VAT) if applicable, authorised representative's NID.
A non-resident Bangladeshi (NRB) with a registered local entitySame as company, plus operating address inside Bangladesh.

2. Documents you'll need

  • NID — front + back, clear scan or photo.
  • Trade Licence — clear scan (PDF/JPG).
  • TIN certificate — issued by the National Board of Revenue.
  • BIN / VAT registration — if your annual turnover is above the NBR threshold.
  • Bank statement first page OR bKash / Nagad merchant account screenshot.
  • Shop logo (PNG, transparent background, ≥ 256×256 px).
  • Shop banner (JPG, 1920×600 px recommended).

3. Step 1 — Create your account

  1. Visit /signup/?role=seller.
  2. Enter your business email, mobile number, and choose a password.
  3. Verify the email with the one-time code sent to your inbox.
  4. You're logged into the Seller Center in "Pending Verification" state.

4. Step 2 — Submit KYC for verification

  1. From /seller/, tap Shop Verification (KYC).
  2. Choose your business type (individual / company / partnership).
  3. Upload your NID front + back; enter your NID number exactly as printed.
  4. Upload Trade Licence; enter the licence number.
  5. Upload TIN certificate; enter the TIN.
  6. Enter your full shop address.
  7. Submit.

An SGT Cart admin reviews your submission within 1-2 business days. You'll receive an email when the decision is made.

5. Step 3 — Build your store profile

  • Shop name (English + Bangla) — bilingual is strongly recommended.
  • Shop slug — used in the URL /store/your-slug/.
  • Description — a 2-3 paragraph introduction.
  • Logo — square, transparent PNG looks best.
  • Banner — wide cover image for your store page.

6. Step 4 — List your first products

  1. From the Seller Center, tap My Products → Create.
  2. Fill in the title (EN + BN), category, base price, stock, SKU, description.
  3. Upload 1-8 product images. The first one becomes the cover.
  4. Add variants if applicable — colour, size, each with its own price and stock.
  5. Tap Submit for review.

7. Step 5 — Set up payouts & tax

  1. From the Seller Center, open Payout Settings.
  2. Choose your primary payout method (Bank / bKash / Nagad).
  3. Confirm your TIN.
  4. Read and accept the Seller Agreement.
